Stage Description
A stage of the Via Turonensis after leaving the metropolitan area of París southwards. Some 35 km cross la Hurepoix and begin to work into the Gâtinais across the cereal fields of la Beauce. Étampes is a historic medieval town in the Essonne, a former royal seat with a rich heritage that includes the Collégiale Notre-Dame du Fort (12th-15th centuries), the church of Saint-Basile and the Tour de Guinette, remains of the old royal castle.
