Leaving behind the industrial Avilés, this long stage enters into the western coast of Asturias. The route is a continuous rise and fall through hills, forests and beaches. It's a day of great beauty and high physical demand. Arrival in Soto de Luiña, a small village with a pilgrim hospital and a peaceful atmosphere, is well-deserved rest. This stage puts the pilgrim's endurance to the test, but rewards with spectacular landscapes.
The stage from Avilés to Soto de Luiña is a 38km long journey that ventures into western Asturias' coastline. The path starts in Avilés (10m) and follows an undulating profile, with a gentle ascent towards Soto de Luiña (20m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape, with hills, forests, and beaches. It is an demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the tranquility of its surroundings. Arrival in Soto de Luiña, a small town with a pilgrims' hospital and a peaceful atmosphere, is well-deserved rest. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the North Way.
