Stage Description
This is a short and transitional stage, ideal for recovering strength. The route runs across an elevated plain, with a landscape of vineyards and fields of grain that already signal the proximity of La Mancha. The journey is smooth, with gentle undulations, and allows one to enjoy the tranquility of the interior Valencian region. The arrival at La Font de la Figuera, the last town in Valencia province on this route, is a functional stop that prepares the pilgrim for the change of autonomous community and entry into the vast plains of Castilla-La Mancha.
The Moixent to La Font de la Figuera stage is a short 17km journey that serves as a transition before leaving the Valencian Community. The path begins in Moixent (340m) and enters an alpine landscape where vineyards and fields of grain begin to dominate the horizon, a precursor to Manchegan landscapes. The profile of the stage is a gentle but constant ascent, gaining over 200 meters of altitude in a progressive manner. The route follows rural roads and dirt paths in a tranquil and sparsely populated environment. It's an enjoyable walk with no major difficulties, ideal for enjoying the scenery and feeling like you're approaching the heart of the peninsula. La Font de la Figuera (575m) is the last Valencian town on the Levante Way. It's a rural village with a strong wine-making tradition and a rural atmosphere. Its Church of the Nativity of Our Lady and the Historical-Ethnological Museum are points of interest. Due to its brevity, this stage allows the pilgrim to arrive in time to rest and prepare for the long journey through Castilla-La Mancha that begins the next day.
