Stage Description
This stage continues through the interior of Biscay, in a mid-mountain terrain. The profile is a continuous "breakneck", with several ascents and descents. The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with forests and farmhouses. The most important milestone is passing through the Monastery of Zenarruza, a cenobium of great historical and spiritual importance. Arrival in Gernika-Lumo, the symbol of Basque peace and freedoms, with its Town Hall and Tree, is a stage finish loaded with emotion and historical significance.
