Stage Description

This is one of the longest stages of the Via Turonensis, a true marathon through the Loir valley. The route is flat but very demanding due to its length. Arrival in Vendôme, a city with a rich heritage, such as the Abbey of the Trinity and the ruins of its castle, is a monumental reward. It's an overcoming stage that strengthens both body and spirit.
The Châteaudun to Vendôme stage is one of the longest sections of the Via Turonensis, a 43 km marathon that crosses the Loir valley. The path starts at Châteaudun (115 m) and follows a mostly descending profile with some undulations until the city of Vendôme (80 m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape with fields of cultivation and forests. It is an demanding hike due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the monumental grandeur of the destination. Arrival in Vendôme is a moment of great emotion.
