Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

Last cycling stage of the French Way, an emotional journey to the cathedral of Compostela. The 70 km pass through the last milestones of the Camino: Melide (with its traditional pulpería), Arzúa (P.D.O. of Arzúa-Ulloa cheese), Monte do Gozo (first view of Santiago) and the entrance through the Porta do Camiño. Culminating arrival at the Praza do Obradoiro in front of the baroque facade of the cathedral, embrace the apostle and end of the cycling tour.
This stage descends from the Sierra de Guadarrama to the Castilian tableland. The route is a pleasant walk through a landscape of pine forests and oak woods. It's a day out to enjoy nature and look forward to arriving at one of Spain's most beautiful cities. Arrival in Segovia, with its impressive Roman aqueduct, its Alcázar, and its Gothic cathedral, is a monumental final stage.
