Stage Description
This stage joins the Camino del Norte with the Camino Francés. The route is an enjoyable stroll through rural Galicia. Arrival in Arzúa, land of cheese, is a moment of great excitement as it marks the meeting point of pilgrims from both routes. It's a day to enjoy the company of other pilgrims and look forward to arriving in Santiago.
The stage from Sobrado dos Monxes to Arzúa is a 22-kilometer journey that links the North Way with the French Way. The path starts at Sobrado dos Monxes (540 m) and follows a mainly descending profile, although with some undulations, until the town of Arzúa (380 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with forests and meadows. It is a peaceful and easy walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination town. Arrival at Arzúa, land of cheese, is a moment of great emotion, as it is here that pilgrims from both routes meet. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich gastronomic experience, a perfect balance on the North Way.
