Stage Description
This stage begins in the lively town of Sarria and quickly heads into the beautiful rural landscapes of Galicia. The route runs along shaded paths, small hamlets and the characteristic Galician “corredoiras” (sunken country lanes). It is a gentle start, though with constant short climbs, rewarding the pilgrim with the peace of the countryside before reaching the tiny hamlet of Morgade.
Saliendo de Sarria, el camino asciende suavemente hacia la zona de la Iglesia de San Salvador. A través de hermosos bosques de castaños y robles, el peregrino atraviesa localidades como Vilei y Barbadelo. El paisaje es una sucesión de prados verdes y muros de piedra seca. Morgade aparece como un oasis de tranquilidad, ideal para aquellos que buscan fraccionar la clásica etapa hacia Portomarín y disfrutar de la hospitalidad en un entorno puramente aldeano.
