Stage Description
This stage is a tough mountain day culminating in the ascent to Puerto del Palo. The profile is an ongoing and demanding climb through a landscape of great beauty and solitude. It's a stage for well-prepared hikers, which rewards with spectacular panoramic views from the top. The destination is the small village of La Mesa, a haven of peace in high mountain, ideal for an authentic and restorative break.
This stage of the Wool Road is a traverse across the Castilian plain, on a flat and monotonous route. The arrival in the town of Abejar, a small village in a rural setting, is an authentic final stage. It's a day for introspection and meditation.
