Stage Description
This stage traverses the Umbrian valley plain, with Assisi always visible on the horizon. It is a flat day that passes near the important city of Foligno. The arrival in Spello, another of Italy's most beautiful towns, with its flower-lined streets and Roman ruins, is a final stage of great charm. The Trevi to Spello stage is a 19 km journey that traverses the Umbrian valley's flat plain. The trail starts at Trevi (412 m) and follows a mostly descending profile with some undulations, until reaching the town of Spello (280 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, featuring the famous olive hills of the Spoleto valley. It is a peaceful walk with no difficulties, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination town. Spello, one of Italy's most beautiful towns, is renowned for its flower-adorned streets and Roman ruins. Its heritage, including the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and its mosaics, and its medieval atmosphere, make it a very special stop. It is an stage that combines gentle exercise with rich scenic and cultural experience, a perfect balance on the Via di San Francesco.
