Discover Lleida

Lleida (Leida), the capital of Terra Ferma, is an important hub for communications and a convergence point for different branches of the Catalan Way (Camí de Sant Jaume). The city, situated on the banks of the Segre River, welcomes pilgrims with its imposing silhouette of its most emblematic monument: the Old Cathedral. This ancient cathedral, a magnificent blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles with a cloister offering panoramic views, stands atop a hill and is the soul of the city. For the walker, the climb to the Old Cathedral is a rewarding effort rewarded with history and breathtaking views. The city center offers an animated commercial axis and an old town with hidden corners to discover, such as the New Cathedral in Baroque style. Lleida is a major service center, with hostels and everything necessary for replenishing energy before venturing into the Monegros hills or continuing along the Ebro River's banks. It is a stop combining rich monumental heritage with the character of a provincial capital, a key milestone on pilgrimages through Catalan lands.
