Luarca, the capital of Valdés council, is one of the most charming coastal villages in western Asturias. Known as "White Village on Green Coast", its whitewashed houses descend to a picturesque fishing port protected by bastions. The town is divided by the Black River, with seven bridges connecting its neighborhoods. For the pilgrim of the North Way, it's a beautiful stopover. One cannot miss visiting its spectacular cemetery on the cliff, next to the Atalaya hermitage, with breathtaking views over the sea. It's the birthplace of the Nobel Prize Severo Ochoa award, Luarca offers an aristocratic atmosphere, all services and exquisite gastronomy.
