Saint-Jean-de-Luz (Donibane Lohizune in Basque) is one of the most elegant and charming coastal cities in French Basque Country. For pilgrims on the North Way, it's a stop of exceptional beauty. Its sheltered bay, its large beach and lively fishing port are its defining features. The town is famous for its rich history, marked by whale fishing and having hosted King Louis XIV's wedding with Infanta Maria Theresa of Spain in San Juan Bautista church.
