Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
Stage of the Mozarabic Way of Almeria, crossing the region of the river Andarax. The 28 km link Alboloduy with Abla through the valley of the Andarax, with arid landscape of wadis, palm trees and intensive agriculture under plastic. Abla, ancient Roman Abula, preserves milestones and road layout of the Augusta road and later the Via Augustea. The route partially follows the route of the old railroad.
This stage continues through the Manchegan plain, on a flat and shadowless route. It is a day to enjoy the vastness of the landscape and the solitude of the road. The arrival in Quintanar de la Orden, a village with great Jacobean tradition, is an end-of-stage stop with charm. It is a transition stage that brings the pilgrim closer to Toledo province.
