Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

Stage through the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, a natural park of great biodiversity. The 30 km run through pastures of oaks and cork oaks, habitat of the Iberian pig that produces the Jabugo D.O. ham. The route passes through white mountain villages with traditional architecture. Cañaveral de León is a small town in Huelva with an agricultural tradition and rich Iberian gastronomy.
The stage between Xàtiva and La Font de la Figuera is a mountain day that enters the Costa region. The profile is demanding, with a strong climb leaving Xàtiva. The landscape changes radically, and fields of cultivation give way to pine forests and Mediterranean mountains, as well as extensive vineyards. It's a stage of great natural beauty and solitude. Arrival at La Font de la Figuera marks the end of the stage. This town, located in an important crossroads between the Levante and the Meseta, is an important vitivinicultural center. Its church and historic museum are of interest. The final stage is peaceful and a good preparation for entering Castilla-La Mancha.
