Stage Description
This stage enters into a more mountainous terrain. The profile is a continuous rise and fall, with an demanding ascent at the beginning. The landscape changes, and the orange groves give way to pine forests, vineyards, and olive groves. It's a day of great beauty and solitude. The destination is La Font de la Figuera, a wine-producing town at a major crossroads, on the threshold of the Castile plateau.
The stage between Xàtiva and La Font de la Figuera is a mountain day that enters the Costa region. The profile is demanding, with a strong climb leaving Xàtiva. The landscape changes radically, and fields of cultivation give way to pine forests and Mediterranean mountains, as well as extensive vineyards. It's a stage of great natural beauty and solitude. Arrival at La Font de la Figuera marks the end of the stage. This town, located in an important crossroads between the Levante and the Meseta, is an important vitivinicultural center. Its church and historic museum are of interest. The final stage is peaceful and a good preparation for entering Castilla-La Mancha.
