Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
This long stage ventures into the heart of Ribatejo, land of horses and bulls. The route is flat but very demanding due to its distance. It's a day to enjoy the landscape of the lezíria, the alluvial plain of the Tagus River. Arrival in Santarém, the Gothic Portuguese capital, perched on a hill over the river, is a monumental reward. This stage is one of overcoming, which strengthens the body and spirit, and offers a grand finale of great historical and architectural beauty.
