Stage Description

The first stage of the Camino Catalán, setting out west from Barcelona. It starts from the cathedral of la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia or from the basilica of la Sagrada Família, climbing up through Vallvidrera and the sierra de Collserola. Some 18 km cross the natural park of Collserola on forest paths with views over Barcelona, arriving at Sant Cugat del Vallès, where the Romanesque-Gothic monastery of Sant Cugat (12th century) stands, one of the most important in Catalonia.
