Stage Description

This is one of the longest and most demanding stages of the Portuguese Way, but also one of the most beautiful. The profile is a continuous "broken bone" through a rural landscape of great charm. The route passes through numerous small villages, vineyards and forests. The main difficulty is the climb to Alto da Portela, which requires good effort. The reward is arriving in Ponte de Lima, considered the oldest town in Portugal. Its impressive Roman-medieval bridge over the Lima River and its well-preserved historic quarter make it one of the most beautiful stops along the entire route.
