Leaving behind the monumental Saintes, this stage enters the region of Saintonge. The route is moderate in distance and undulating profile, crossing a landscape of vineyards that produce famous cognac. Arrival at Pons, a medieval town dominated by its imposing keep, is an end-of-stage with charm. It's a day to enjoy the vineyard scenery and the history of this Aquitania region.
The Saintes to Pons stage is a 22 km journey that ventures into the region of Saintonge. The route starts in Saintes (10 m) and follows an undulating profile with a gentle ascent towards Pons (20 m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape, featuring vineyards that produce famous cognac. It's an enjoyable walk that allows you to appreciate the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Pons, a medieval city dominated by its imposing keep, is a stage finish with charm. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the Via Turonensis.
