Stage Description
This long stage continues through the Saintonge region, on an demanding journey due to its distance. The landscape remains dominated by vineyards, on undulating terrain. It is a day of great effort and perseverance. Arrival in Mirambeau, a small town with a Renaissance castle, is a well-deserved rest. It is a stage of transition that brings the pilgrim closer to the Gironde estuary and the Bordeaux region.
The Pons to Mirambeau stage is a 29km long journey that continues through the Saintonge region. The path starts at Pons (20m) and follows an undulating profile with a gentle ascent towards Mirambeau (50m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with vineyards and fields of cultivation. It's a demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its surroundings and the tranquility of the environment. Arrival in Mirambeau, a small town with a Renaissance castle, is an end stage with charm. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the Turonensis Way.
