Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
This stage continues through the Vinalopó valley in a gentle slope terrain. The landscape is dominated by vineyards and fields of cultivation. It's a transition day that brings the pilgrim closer to the province's interior. The destination is Petrer, a town with an impressive castle-palace that dominates the landscape. Its old town, with its cave houses, is of great charm.
This stage enters the Gascony region, a land of hills and fields of cultivation. The route is demanding, with an undulating profile and continuous ups and downs. Arrival in Auch, Gascony's capital, with its imposing Cathedral of Saint Mary and Monumental Staircase, is a culturally rich final stage. It is a stage that requires good physical preparation but rewards with spectacular landscapes.
