The stage from Viana do Castelo to A Guarda is a 27km journey that says goodbye to Portugal and enters Spain. The route starts in Viana do Castelo (20m) and follows a mostly descending profile, with some undulations, until the town of A Guarda (10m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with forests and fields of cultivation. It's a peaceful walk with no difficulties, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination town. Arrival in Caminha, with its charming old town, and crossing the ferry over the Miño River to A Guarda are moments of great excitement. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the Portuguese Way of the Coast.
