The stage that leads to Avila is a long and demanding mountain journey. The road crosses the Sierra de la Paramera, with continuous ups and downs. The landscape is spectacular, with pine forests and panoramic views. As you progress, the imposing silhouette of Avila's medieval walls grows in the horizon. Arrival at Avila is an unforgettable moment. The city, declared a World Heritage Site, is famous for its spectacular medieval wall, the best preserved in Europe. Walking along its ramparts is a unique experience. But Avila is much more: it is the city of Saint Teresa of Jesus, and her footprints are everywhere. Her Cathedral, with its fortified apse, the Convent of Saint Teresa, the Basilica of Saint Vincent... The heritage of Avila is boundless.
