Stage Description
From the mountain port, the path descends to the village of Frangy, through a landscape of hills and forests. It is an enjoyable stage that allows the pilgrim to get into rhythm and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside of Upper Savoy. The route is mainly downhill without great difficulties. Arrival in Frangy, a small town with basic services, is a serene end stage. It's a day for enjoying nature and the peace of the road.
The stage from the Col du Mont-Sion to Frangy is a 21.3km journey that descends from the mountain pass towards the Usses valley. The route starts at the Col du Mont-Sion (785m) and follows a mainly descending profile, with some undulations, until the town of Frangy (320m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with oak and beech forests, and offers panoramic views of the valley. It is a peaceful and easy walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination town. Frangy is a small village with a medieval bridge and a rural atmosphere. It's an easy stage that combines gentle exercise with rich scenic experience, perfect balance on the Via Gebennensis.
