Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
Cycle touring stage along the coast between Cantabria and Asturias. The 50 km link Comillas with Llanes passing through San Vicente de la Barquera and the Natural Park of Oyambre. The route crosses the Asturian border at Unquera/Bustio and continues along the eastern coast of Asturias. Llanes is a seaside village with a walled old town, traditional port and the Cubos de la Memoria de Ibarrola on the breakwater.
This stage says goodbye to Castile and León to enter Galicia. The route is a continuous ascent to the summit of A Canda, the entrance gate to Galicia. It's a day of great beauty and physical demand. Arrival at A Gudiña, an important communication hub, is the end of the stage in the midst of the mountains. This is a stage that marks the entry into the land of the Apostle.
