Llanes is one of the most vibrant and beautiful coastal villages in Asturias, and an essential stop on the Camino del Norte. Its old town, declared a Historic-Artistic Ensemble, preserves remains of its medieval wall, houses and palaces. The fishing port, with Agustín Ibarrola's "Cubos de la Memoria", is the heart of local life. Llanes is famous for its spectacular beaches, both urban and those at Sablón and Toró, as well as numerous coves in its surroundings, such as Gulpiyuri.
