It's a transition day that brings the pilgrim closer to more populated areas. Arrival in Cistierna, an important village and center of services for the region, marks the end of the stage. Its lively atmosphere and complete range of accommodations and restaurants make it a very comfortable stop.
The stage between Crémenes and Cistierna is a transition day that gently follows the valley of the River Esla. The profile is very favorable, allowing for comfortable and fast walking. The landscape changes, and high mountain gives way to a wider and more fertile valley. The path runs mostly along the riverbank, through a landscape of coppices and meadows. It's an stage to enjoy the tranquility of the fluvial environment. Several small towns are passed by, which facilitates provisioning. Arrival in Cistierna, the capital of the comarca, is the end of the stage. This village, with an important mining and railway past, is today a dynamic center of services. It offers the pilgrim everything they may need: hostels, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, etc.
