Stage Description
This is a short stage that has as its destination the capital of Biscay. The journey involves climbing Mount Avril, from where the first and spectacular views of Bilbao and its bay are obtained. After descending, an urban walk leads the pilgrim through the old town of the city, the Seven Streets. Arrival at either the Basilica of Begoña or Santiago Cathedral marks the end of a stage that combines the mountain with entry into one of Spain's most vibrant and modern cities.
