Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
The path advances along wide dirt tracks, through an open and luminous landscape. It passes by Medina de las Torres, a small town with the remains of a castle and a beautiful church. It's a good place for an intermediate break.
The approach to Zafra anticipates arrival at an important location. This city, of great historical and commercial significance, is popularly known as "Seville little" due to its beauty and lively atmosphere. Its monumental heritage is exceptional. The pilgrim is received by the city walls and its imposing Alcázar of the Dukes of Feria, which today hosts the Parador de Turismo.
The heart of Zafra are its two adjacent and covered plazas, the Plaza Grande and the Plaza Chica, a space full of life and terraces. Walking through its old town is discovering Gothic churches, convents, and palaces that speak of its rich past. Zafra offers a complete range of services and is a perfect stop to enjoy culture, gastronomy, and Extremaduran hospitality.
