Stage Description
The profile is mostly descending, without technical difficulties, allowing for comfortable and pleasant walking. The route runs on dirt paths and rural roads, through a mosaic of farms where sheep and Iberian pigs graze. It's an episode to enjoy the scenery, the width of the horizon, and the tranquility of the countryside.
Halfway through the journey, one passes through the local town of Calzadilla de los Barros, a good point for making a stop and refueling. The village preserves a beautiful church and traditional architecture from the area.
The end of the stage arrives at Fuente de Cantos, a historic and culturally significant village. It's widely known as the birthplace of the master of the Golden Age, painter Francisco de Zurbarán. The pilgrim can visit the Zurbarán House-Museum, as well as the imposing church of Our Lady of Granada. The village has all services and a good range of hostels, making it a culturally enriching and restorative final stage.
