This stage continues along the western coast of Cantabria, on a route that combines interior sections with spectacular views to the sea. It is a day of great beauty, which passes through towns with charm such as Comillas. The arrival at San Vicente de la Barquera, a maritime village with an impressive bridge and the Picos de Europa as a backdrop, is a postal stage end.
The stage from Santillana del Mar to San Vicente de la Barquera is a 32 km long journey that continues along the western coast of Cantabria. The route starts at Santillana del Mar (90 m) and follows a mainly descending profile, although with some undulations, until the village of San Vicente de la Barquera (10 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with charming villages like Comillas. It is an demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its surroundings and the monumentality of the destination.
