Stage Description
The last stage of the Jacob's Way. The path approaches the great city of Geneva, on a route that combines rural sections with more urbanized zones. Emotion grows as the "Jet d'Eau", famous water fountain of the lake, comes into view. Arrival at St. Peter's Cathedral in Geneva marks the end of this historic pilgrimage route through Switzerland. A monumental finish in one of the world's most international cities.
The final stage of the Jacob's Way, from Gland to Geneva, is a 25.1 km journey that closes the circle of this Swiss route. The path starts in Gland (415 m) and follows a mainly descending profile towards the city of Geneva (375 m). The route passes through a transition landscape where the countryside gives way to a more urbanized area. The path passes by localities such as Nyon, with its castle and Roman museum. The approach to Geneva is made following the lake's shore, offering spectacular views. Arrival at St Peter's Cathedral, in the heart of Geneva's old town, marks the end of the Jacob's Way. It is an stage that combines a gentle exercise with a rich cultural experience, a golden touch for one of Europe's most beautiful pilgrimage routes.
