Stage Description
The route runs along endless dirt tracks surrounded by a sea of cereal fields that change color with the seasons. It's a landscape of open horizons and vast skies, where solitude and silence are the main companions on the journey. The almost total absence of trees makes it essential to bring sun protection and plenty of water, especially outside of spring.
The path passes near Faramontanos de Tábara before arriving at the destination. Arrival in Tábara is a special moment. This village had immense importance during the High Middle Ages due to its Monastery of San Salvador, which housed one of Europe's most important scriptoriums. It was there that some of the most beautiful manuscripts from the time were illuminated, the famous Beatos de Tábara. Although only the church of Santa María remains from the original monastery, with its imposing Romanesque tower, the weight of history is felt in every corner. Tábara offers the pilgrim all the necessary services for a well-deserved rest.
