Stage Description
A demanding stage that crosses the border between Castilla-León and Galicia through the legendary O Cebreiro pass. The 13 km have a significant cumulative climb, with a constant ascent from the Valcarce valley to the 1,300 m of the pass. The landscape changes drastically: Atlantic forests, pallozas (Celtic circular huts), fog and mountains. Pedrafita do Cebreiro is the entrance to the province of Lugo and to the Celtic spirituality of the Camino.
The Negreira to Olveiroa stage is a 33km long journey that ventures into the most rural and solitary Galicia. The trail starts in Negreira (100m) and follows an undulating profile, with a gentle ascent towards Olveiroa (300m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape, featuring forests, hills and villages. It's an demanding hike due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Olveiroa, a small stone village recovered for pilgrims, is an authentic stage end. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on Fisterra and Muxía Way.
