Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

This stage marks the transition of the Valencian Community to Castile-La Mancha. The profile becomes more demanding, with a continuous rise and fall. The landscape is a mix of vineyards and low hills. It's a day of great beauty and solitude. Arrival in Caudete, already in Albacete province, a village with a rich Gothic and Baroque heritage, offers well-deserved rest and welcome to Manchegan lands.
The stage that connects Villena with Caudete is a transitional journey that brings the pilgrim from the province of Alicante to Albacete. The profile is a continuous rise and fall along the slopes of the Sierra de Oliva. The landscape is dominated by vineyards and low mountains. It's a beautiful stage, which takes place in a rural and solitary environment. Arrival in Caudete marks the end of the stage. This historic town has a notable heritage. Its church of Saint Catherine, with its impressive Gothic portal, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Grace, in Baroque style, are must-see attractions. It's a monumental final to the stage and an excellent starting point for delving into La Mancha.
