Stage Description
Classic Cantabrian stage of the Camino del Norte. The departure from Laredo is through the beach of La Salvé, one of the longest in the Cantabrian Sea, and crosses the estuary of Santoña in a traditional boat to continue through Cicero and the Natural Park of the Marshes of Santoña. The landscape combines coast, marshes and whelks. After about 30 km you reach Güemes, famous for its pilgrims' hostel La Cabaña del Abuelo Peuto, managed by Father Ernesto, a reference on the Camino.
