The stage from Las Pedroñeras to El Toboso is a 31.7 km journey that transports the pilgrim from the garlic capital to the heart of Don Quixote's universe. The route is long but, once again, the profile is predominantly flat, characteristic of La Mancha. The path starts in Las Pedroñeras (705 m) and heads north, passing through a landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and fields of grain. The route passes by Mota del Cuervo, famous for its windmills that rise above a hill, offering one of the most iconic and quixotic scenes in all of Spain. The view of the "giants" is a magical moment that rewards the effort of the walk. After Mota del Cuervo, the path continues until El Toboso (635 m), the homeland of Dulcinea. This town has managed to preserve its Manchegan charm, with its whitewashed houses and quiet streets. A visit to the Dulcinea House-Museum, a recreation of a 16th-century noble house, and the Cervantino Museum, which houses editions of "Don Quixote" in multiple languages, is essential. It's an stage that combines pilgrimage with literature, allowing the walker to follow not only the footsteps of ancient pilgrims but also that of the most famous knight-errant of all time.
