Stage Description

This stage is a total immersion in the Palatine Fields of Terra de Campos. The profile is completely flat. The landscape is an endless plain of cereal fields, with an infinite horizon under the Castilian sky. It's a day of great solitude and austere beauty, ideal for introspection. Arrival at historic Carrión de los Condes, one of the most important villages on the Camino Francés route, marks the union with the main road.
The stage that connects Herrera de Pisuerga with Carrión de los Condes is a pure Land of Fields journey. The profile is completely flat, and the road advances through earth tracks that get lost in the horizon. The landscape is an immense cereal plain, dotted with small adobe villages and some stables. It's a stage of great solitude, ideal for meditation. Arrival at Carrión de los Condes is a moment of great symbolism. Here, the Pilgrim of the Forgotten Way joins the bustling French Way. The village, of great importance in the history of the Way, was an important center of culture and religion. It offers the pilgrim a rich heritage, highlighting the Monastery of San Zoilo and Santiago Church. It's the perfect end to a solitary route and a welcome to the main stream of pilgrimage.
