Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

Final stage of the Ruta del Argar, long (38 km) but completely flat, which culminates the journey from Lorca to the lands of Toledo. The route crosses the Mancha toledana through fields of cereal and olive groves, leaving behind Consuegra (with its famous twelve windmills on the hill Calderico, scene of Don Quixote's fight against the giants) before reaching Mora, Spanish capital of extra virgin olive oil and home of the Fiesta del Olivo. The end of the route is marked by the golden light of La Mancha and the aroma of the olive grove.
The stage leading to Finisterre is the last chapter of the pilgrimage for many. It's a journey to enjoy and assimilate all the experiences of the Camino. Starting from Cee or Corcubión, the route follows the coastline line, offering spectacular views of the estuary and the sea. The most notable section is the walk along the long and beautiful beach of Langosteira, an invitation to take off your shoes and feel the sand and water of the Atlantic Ocean. After the beach, you arrive at the marina village of Fisterra (Finisterre), a fishing village with a bustling port and a welcoming atmosphere. But the true end of the Camino is just a few kilometers away from the village. A steep road ascends to Cape Finisterre, where the iconic lighthouse stands tall. This place, considered the "finis terrae" of ancient times, is an enclave loaded with magic and symbolism. Tradition dictates that pilgrims perform several rituals here: burning some clothing used on the Camino, collecting a shell from the beach, and above all, sitting on the rocks to contemplate the sunset over the endless ocean. The visit to the milestone at kilometer 0.0 is the final photo of the journey.
