Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
First stage of the Camino dos Faros, a circular route along the Galician Costa da Morte linking Malpica with Fisterra. The 21 km of the route skirt the Atlantic coast between wild cliffs, hidden coves and the spectacular seascape of the 'Costa da Morte', a legendary name due to the numerous shipwrecks. The Punta Nariga lighthouse, designed by architect César Portela, is one of the landmarks of the route. Niñóns is a small fishing village.
The first stage of the Portuguese Way from Lisbon is a 25km journey that follows the course of the Tagus River. The path starts in Lisbon (10m) and follows a mainly flat profile with a gentle ascent towards Alhandra (10m). The route passes through the Park of Nations, with its modern architecture. It's an enjoyable walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. The arrival at Alhandra, a small town on the banks of the Tagus, is a serene final stage. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical and scenic experience, a perfect balance in the Portuguese Way.
