Stage Description
The first stage of the Portuguese Way from Lisbon is an urban and peri-urban route that follows the course of the Tagus River. It's a flat and pleasant journey, allowing for a peaceful departure from Portugal's capital. The path goes through the Park of Nations with its modern architecture. Arrival in Alhandra, a small town on the banks of the Tajo, is a serene end to the stage. It's a journey to say goodbye to monumental Lisbon and start tuning into the pilgrim's rhythm.

The path starts in Lisbon (10m) and follows a mainly flat profile with a gentle ascent towards Alhandra (10m). The route passes through the Park of Nations, with its modern architecture.
