Stage Description
This stage continues along the Tajo riverbank, on a flat and pleasant route. It's a day to enjoy the riverine landscape and the tranquility of the road. The arrival in Azambuja, a city with a rich heritage and great bullfighting tradition, is an interesting culturally concluding stage.
The Alhandra to Azambuja stage is a 24km journey that continues along the banks of the Tagus. The route starts in Alhandra (10m) and follows a mainly flat profile with a gentle ascent towards Azambuja (20m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, partly following the course of the river. It's an enjoyable walk that allows you to appreciate the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Azambuja, a city with a rich heritage and great bullfighting tradition, is a culturally interesting finale. This stage combines gentle exercise with a rich historical experience, making it the perfect balance on the Portuguese Way.
