Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
This stage moves away from the first line of coast to venture into the interior, at the feet of the Sierra del Sueve. The profile is a continuous rise and fall through a landscape of meadows and forests. It's a day of great beauty and tranquility. The route passes by several small villages. Arrival in Colunga, a town with an interesting heritage and a tranquil atmosphere, offers a well-deserved rest in the heart of "Dinosaur Coast".
This long and demanding stage brings the pilgrim to the monumental city of Burgos. The route passes through a transition landscape, leaving behind the last foothills of the mountain range to enter the plain of the River Arlanzón. Arrival in Burgos, with its majestic Gothic Cathedral, is the end of a long journey and an unbeatable reward.
