Stage Description
Last cyclotourist stage of the Primitive Way, shared with the French Way in its final stretch. The 50 km link Melide with Santiago de Compostela passing through Arzúa (P.D.O. cheese) and the last rural villages of inland Galicia. Entrance to Santiago through Monte do Gozo and the Porta do Camiño to the cathedral. Exciting end after several days cycling through Asturias and Galicia.
This long stage follows the course of the River Duero, on a flat and pleasant route. It is a day to enjoy the riverine landscape and the tranquility of the road. The arrival in Zamora, "The City of Romanesque", with its impressive cathedral and old town, is a monumental final stage. It is a transitional day that brings the pilgrim closer to the Silver Way.
