Discover Melide

Melide, a lively town in the heart of Galicia, holds a special place in the Jacobean world. It is the crossroads par excellence, the point where the historic and demanding Camino Primitivo joins the heavily traveled Camino Francés. This confluence turns it into a hive of pilgrims, a place of meeting, celebration, and shared experiences. But Melide is world-famous for another reason: its pulpo "á feira." For any pilgrim, stopping at one of its popular pulperías to savor this delicacy is a ritual almost as important as stamping the credential. Beyond its gastronomy, the town has an interesting heritage, including the Romanesque church of Santa María de Melide and the Museo da Terra de Melide. The town is fully equipped with albergues and all the services needed to handle the great flow of walkers.
