Leaving behind the monumental Burgos, this stage enters into the Castilian tableland. The route is flat and monotonous at times, a landscape of cereal fields and endless horizons. It's a day for introspection and meditation. The arrival in Hornillos del Camino, a small Jacobean village, is an authentic final stage. It's a journey that defines the experience of walking across the tableland: solitude, effort, and the austere beauty of the plain.
La etapa de Melle a Aulnay-de-Saintonge es una jornada que culmina en una de las joyas del arte románico de toda Francia. El camino parte de Melle y sigue un perfil mayormente descendente, aunque con algunas ondulaciones, hasta la localidad de Aulnay-de-Saintonge. La ruta atraviesa un paisaje de gran belleza, con campos de cultivo y bosques. Es una caminata agradable, que permite disfrutar del paisaje y llegar con tiempo para explorar la localidad de destino. La llegada a Aulnay-de-Saintonge es un momento de gran emoción para los amantes del arte. Su iglesia de Saint-Pierre, Patrimonio de la Humanidad, es una joya arquitectónica. Es una etapa que combina un suave ejercicio con una rica experiencia artística, un perfecto equilibrio en la Vía Turonensis.
