Stage Description
This stage combines a ferry crossing through the Gironde estuary with a walk through the renowned wine region of Médoc. It is a day of great beauty and originality. After the ferry, the path enters a sea of vineyards, passing by some of the world's most famous "châteaux". The arrival in Bordeaux, the world capital of wine and UNESCO World Heritage site, is a spectacular end to the stage. It is a day to enjoy the wine, landscape, and architecture.
The Blaye to Bordeaux stage is a 35km journey that combines a ferry crossing over the Gironde estuary with a walk through the prestigious wine region of Médoc. The route starts in Blaye (10m) and follows a mostly flat profile, with a gentle descent towards Bordeaux (5m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape, with vineyards and views of the estuary. It's an enjoyable hike that allows you to appreciate the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. The arrival in Bordeaux, the world capital of wine and UNESCO World Heritage site, is a spectacular finale.
