The Monte Sacro to Monterotondo stage is an 18km journey that marks the final exit from Rome's agglomeration. The route starts at Monte Sacro (59m) and enters the Roman countryside, with a profile that becomes undulating. The route passes through the Marcigliana Natural Reserve, a protected area of great beauty with hills, forests and fields for cultivation, an authentic green lung on the threshold of the capital. It is a pleasant walk that allows you to enjoy nature and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Monterotondo (165m), a town situated on a hill with a well-conserved medieval historic center and a ducal palace, is a very rewarding final stage.
