The inaugural stage of the Cammino di San Benedetto passes through two of Umbria's most important spiritual centers. The route traverses rural areas and offers views of the Apennines, preparing the pilgrim for the journey that awaits them. It is a moderate distance day with an undulating profile and beautiful landscape. Arrival in Cascia, the city of Saint Rita, is a loaded stage of spirituality.
The first stage of the Camino de San Benedict is a 17.2 km journey that connects Norcia, the birthplace of St. Benedict, with Cascia, the city of St. Rita. The path starts in Norcia (604 m) and enters into a mountain landscape, with an undulating profile reaching 800 meters of altitude. The route passes through a beautiful environment, with oak and beech forests, and offers panoramic views of the Sibillini Mountains. It is a pleasant walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Cascia (653 m) is a moment of great spirituality. The city, with its basilica dedicated to St. Rita, is an important pilgrimage center. Its heritage and devotional atmosphere make it a very special stop. It's an stage that combines gentle exercise with a rich spiritual experience, a perfect balance on the Camino de San Benedict.
