Stage Description
This stage crosses the border between Burgos and Cantabria through the Montes del Diablo and the high point of Las Estacas de Trueba. The 24 km include a continuous ascent to the Cantabrian divide, with a landscape of mountain meadows and Atlantic forests. Corconte is a small Cantabrian town on the banks of the Ebro reservoir, famous for its historic spa with mineral-medicinal waters.
The exit from the impressive city of Toledo leads into a stage that enters the Torrijos region. The profile is undulating, a gentle "breakneck" that traverses a landscape of cereal fields and olive groves. The road runs on dirt tracks and quiet local roads, in an overwhelmingly rural environment. It passes through the locality of Rielves. Arrival at Novés marks the end of the stage. This village has an interesting parish church and an authentically Castilian town atmosphere. It is a peaceful place, ideal for the pilgrim's rest.
