Stage Description
This stage continues into the interior of Galicia, on a route that combines mountain sections with flatter areas. It is a beautiful day that crosses the Terra Chá region. The arrival in Vilalba, a medieval town with great gastronomic tradition, is well-deserved rest. This is an intermediate stage, which brings the pilgrim closer to the destination of Santiago.
The stage from Mondoñedo to Vilalba is a 30km journey that continues into the interior of Galicia. The route starts in Mondoñedo (140m) and follows an undulating profile, with a gentle ascent towards Vilabá (480m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with the Terra Chá region as its main protagonist. It is an demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Vilabá, a medieval town with a great gastronomic tradition, is well-deserved rest.
